Sherry H. Massey, age 69 of Pilesgrove, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in her daughter’s home, with her family by her side.
Born in Salem on September 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Floyd & Bertha (Butcher) Hitchner. Sherry was a 1965 graduate of Woodstown High School, and she worked in administration for Salem Hospital for the past 52 years. She loved her work, which kept her connected to her community. She enjoyed all the people who she met and helped over the years. She also loved the beach, animals, and gardening, and she enjoyed reading the local daily newspaper and the Elmer Times.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Shelly Davis; her granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Kristina & Charles Scarpa; her sisters, Doris Williams and Norma Remster; many cousins, nieces & nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and great-great-nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, August 29th in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral service in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
