Marion Elizabeth Stanton of Woodstown, New Jersey gained her angel wings on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

She was born in Galveston, Texas on November 1, 1947 to Mary (Mancuso) Gonsoulin and Richard Gonsoulin. She loved the “ISLAND” and was proud to say she was a “BOI”. She attended public schools there and had fond memories of her childhood at the beach. She loved watching her dad and uncles seine for fish and other marine life while playing with her sister and numerous cousins.

She had several great careers during her lifetime. Some of them being a title clerk for the Galveston County Tax Office and a clerk for NASA. One of the best was being owner and proprietor of The Plamor lounge with her husband, Paul Stanton. She made many friends during this time of her life and enjoyed going to work every day.

Marion was a beautiful, loving, and caring person and loved her Lord and Saviour. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and gave her ALL to her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Gonsoulin, and mother, Mary Elizabeth Whitehead. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Richard Rygaard, of Clyde, NC, stepdaughter, Amanda Yovan (Stephen) of Santa Fe, TX, grandchildren Skadi Rygaard of Brooklawn, NJ, Thora Rygaard of Swedesboro, NJ, Ines Rygaard, mother of her beloved granddaughters, Alexa Brueggeman (Cade) of Santa Fe, TX, Ashtyn Yovan of Santa Fe, TX, and Averi Yovan of Santa Fe, TX, great granddaughter, Sutton Brueggeman, sister, Jeanette Mancill, of Santa Fe, TX, and numerous other nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat “Baby” and her “sister of the heart”, Melody Rygaard Smith, of Bayou Vista, TX.

She will be fondly remembered as a kind-hearted person who touched many lives with her wit, warmth, and dedication. All of Skadi and Thora’s friends considered her to be their second grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Marion’s wishes were to be cremated and have a private celebration of life for her immediate family.

John 16:22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
