Paul graduated from Mercer County Community College and has over 40 years of experience in funeral service. A licenses’ N.J. funeral director for 30 years and was also licensed in New York and Florida. Paul has had the privileged to work at several of the most respected names in funeral service, Saul Funeral Home located in Trenton and Hamilton Square, New Jersey, Frank E. Campbell located in New York City and has been the owner of H.T. Layton Funeral Home for over 7 years. Paul believes that care and compassion is an important trait that cannot be learned or taught but rather comes from the heart and soul of the caregiver.

Paul and his wife Rene, of thirty years, have owned the H.T.Layton Funeral Home for the past eight years. They reside in Pilesgrove and have four children, Paul Jr., Ashley, Alexa, and Connor.

Scott was raised in Pilesgrove along with his brothers and his sister by his mother and step father, Joanne

(MacDonald) & the late Cecil Proud, Jr. he graduated from Woodstown High School in 1991, and he attended Salem Community College. He was hired by Robert C. Layton in 1996, and continued his education at Mercer County Community College where he completed their Mortuary Science program. He became a licensed funeral director in 2001, and was named manager of the funeral home in 2003. Scott married his high school sweetheart, Laura S. Taylor, in 1997. They reside in Sharptown with their daughters, Ashley and Sydney.
