Warren C. Shiffer

2021-04-13-12-02-09-01Warren C. Shiffer, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born in Danville, Pa to the late Charles and Evelyn (Spangler) Shiffer. He grew up in New Berlin, Pa until his father received a job at Chambers Works and they moved to Pedricktown. There he met his wife, Evelyn Hendrickson and they were happily married for 68 years. He graduated from Penns Grove High School in 1949. Warren was an avid duck hunter, small game and always went deer hunting. He was a member of Bank of Delaware Trap Shooters, played softball for Bank of Delaware and First Baptist Church and later was the manager. He was a member of the New Jersey National Guard and served as the Oldmans Township Treasurer. He loved to play pinochle and was a member of the Senior Circle. Warren was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pedricktown for over 70 years. He and his wife attended all youth activities when they were teenagers.  He held several positions at the church including Sunday School Secretary, Trustee and Member of the Mission Team and at the time of his passing, served as Custodian, a job he really loved.  He had been employed at the First National Bank of Pedricktown, George R Pedrick and Sons and the Bank of Delaware (PNC).

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Evelyn, two sons Robert (Judy) Shiffer, Glenn, one daughter Nancy Love, his daughter-in-law Jeanie Shiffer.  Grandchildren;  Ryan Love, Jennie Love and Beth Shiffer.  Seven step granddaughters, five step great grandchildren, two sisters, Ann Tufts (Edgar), Lucy Megronigle, a brother, John Shiffer and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his in-laws Alward and Rae Hendrickson, baby sister Jean Evelyn, brother Robert Spangler Shiffer, his son Donald, his son-in- law Shawn Love and brother-in-law Dan Megronigle.

The family would like to thank Caring Hospice for their tender loving care.  Each employee was special.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church at Pedricktown, 89 W Mill Street, Pedricktown, NJ.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am till time of service at the Church.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
