Phyllis Hickish Eardley

Phyllis H. Eardley of Cherry Hill, NJ went home to be with her Lord on August 14, 2016 at 99 years of age. Born in Clyde, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Wentzel and Mary Elizabeth (Ferguson) Hickish. Mrs. Eardley was a graduate of Woodstown High School and worked as an LPN at the Abingdon Memorial Hospital in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania for many years. Phyllis’ care and concern for others was especially manifested as she took care of her three sisters and her brother as their health declined. She was a member of the Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Voorhees, NJ, for 27 years.

She is survived by three nieces, Carol Casserly, Joan Derylak and Francine Palmeter, and one nephew, David C. Doughty, Jr., along with nine great-nephews, four great-great nieces and one great-great nephew. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband, William J. Eardley, three sisters, Ina Jane Hickish, Audrey Hickish and Francine H. Doughty and one brother, Harold W. Hickish. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00 am at H.T Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, NJ and will be followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Pittsgrove Presbyterian Cemetery.
