Anna E. Seayrs, age 97 of Woodstown, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Friends Village.
Anna was born on September 5, 1920, in Harrisburg, PA, to Edward and Laura (Reed) Shearer. She was a 1939 graduate of Glassboro High School, and worked at Anchor Hocking in Salem, where she met her husband, John. She later worked for the Woodstown 5 & 10 store for several years, and finally retired from A.D. Snelbaker Home after several years of service there. She also worked at home on the family farm alongside her husband and son, and she attended both Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church and Asbury United Methodist Church. She was active with the Disciple Pantry at Asbury, and she loved her cats. She enjoyed her trips out west to Nevada to visit her daughter.
Anna is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Deborah & Kevin Dietz of Henderson, NV; her son & daughter-in-law, Paul & Kim Seayrs of Pilesgrove; her grandchildren, Colin Johnson of NV, Ginger Peterson of NV, Amelia Seayrs of Pilesgrove, and Heather Johnson of Woodstown; her great-grandsons, Drew, Nicholi, and Raymond Paul; her sister, Jane McGill of Woodstown; her niece, Laura (and Dennis) Newton of Woodstown; her great-nephews, Larry, Edward, and Patrick and their families; and her step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Seayrs, in 1988 and her stepdaughter, Shirley Seayrs Bush.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 5th in Lawnside Cemetery, Rt. 40 & Rt. 45, Pilesgrove, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disciple Pantry at Asbury United Methodist Church: make checks payable to Asbury U.M. Church, make note that the donation goes to the Disciple Pantry, and mail to 149 S. Main St., Woodstown, NJ 08098; or contribute to Maddie Friends, Inc., 330 Pecks Corner Rd., Salem, NJ, 08079, or to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
