Sherry Ann Warner

Sherry Ann Warner died March 29, 2017 in Chambersburg, PA.

Born in Alloway and the youngest of eight children of Augustus and Sara Lankitus, she is formerly of Salem.

Sherry earned her teaching degree from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), and she taught at various local public schools and preschools. Most recently she was a substitute teacher at Salem High School. Teaching and literacy were such a major part of her life. She enjoyed teaching children and teaching people to read. She also enjoyed our local parades, especially Woodstown’s Independence Day parade and Alloway’s Halloween parade. Most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her children and granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Warner, formerly of Pennsville; her children, Christopher Warner of Chambersburg and Jennifer Janney of Wilmington, DE; her grandchildren, Gabrielle Janney and Kristen Janney; and her brother, Wesley Lankitus of Alloway. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Finlaw, Jacob Finlaw, Dorothy Finlaw, Augustus Lankitus, Jediah Lankitus, and Elaine Hackett.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, May 13th in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service.
