Jean Williams

williams square(Dora) Jean Williams, nee DeMoine, 94, of Daretown, NJ passed away January 12, 2024.  Born in Pitman, NJ she later moved to Grenloch Terrace and graduated from Glassboro High, class of 1947.  She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 73 years, DeeRoe (Dick) Williams and daughter, Joyce Curry (Joseph) of Palmyra, NJ.  She was predeceased by her parents, Dora Wood (Sumner) and Peter DeMoine (Mary), brother, Raymond DeMoine and sons, David D. (survived by wife Stephanie of Bothell, WA) and Dale W.   She is also survived by grandchildren, David Edward (Ted) Williams of Santa Barbara, CA, Alison Williams of Seattle, WA, and Shane Curry (Courtney) and their sons Benjamin and Jacob of Cinnaminson, NJ.  Sister in-law Ann Nieukirk also survives.

Jean was a school bus driver for Upper Pittsgrove Twp. for 35 years, Court Clerk for 20 years and participated in a number of church and community activities.  In her leisure, Jean enjoyed the beach in Ocean City, NJ, snow skiing, golfing and biking.  Together with Dick and other family members they traveled to many states to enjoy these activities.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 312 Daretown Road, Elmer, NJ 08318 would be appreciated.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 20th in the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Road in Daretown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service.  Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.  Please visit htlayton.com to leave a note of condolence to Jean’s family.  Arrangements are by the H.T.
