Isabel M. Hampton

Watch Journey of Remembrance Video TributeIsabel M. Hampton, age 82 formerly of Oldmans Township, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Lindsay Place in Pennsville.

Born in Greenwich, daughter of the late Samuel & Emily (Sheppard) Holladay, she was raised on Black Road in Mannington. She was a 1943 graduate of Salem High School. Mrs. Hampton worked along side her late husband, Carl, on the family farm where they grew asparagus and tomatoes. In her youth, she enjoyed collecting Native American arrowheads with her father as they walked through the freshly cultivated fields on her family farm. She also enjoyed collecting antiques.

Mrs. Hampton is survived by her son, Carl Hampton, Jr.; her sister, Emily Corson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hampton was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Hampton in 1975 and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 21st in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Pedricktown Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Hampton’s memory may be made to the Salem County Humane Society, PO Box 214, Penns Grove, NJ 08069.
