Howard K. Riegel, Jr., age 75 of Sharptown, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in his home.

Born in Elmer, he was the son of the late Howard K. Sr. & Helen (Fithian) Riegel. Howard was a self-employed plumber for over 50 years. He also was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Pilesgrove-Woodstown Historical Society, and attended Haines Neck United Methodist Church. He loved animals, especially the resident wildlife and strays, and his Rottweiler dogs which he rescued. He enjoyed tinkering with and fixing things at home, and he enjoyed spending time with his dear friends, Darryl Crispin and Joe McCracken.

Howard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith Simpkins Riegel; his stepson, Edward W. Hiles, Sr.; his stepdaughter & son-in-law, Sherri A. & Bill May; his grandchildren, Edward Hiles, Jr., Crystal Hiles, Stephine May, and Billy May, IV; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Hiles, Savannah Hiles, and Michael Davis; his sister, Priscilla Flynn; and his brother, Paul Riegel. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepdaughter-in-law, Joanne Hiles; and his granddaughter, April Hiles.
