Earl Moore, Jr.

Earl Moore, Jr., age 94 of Mannington, died Saturday, January 11, 2020, in Southgate Health Care Center.

Born in Salem and raised in Sharptown, son of the late Earl Sr. and Mary (Banks) Moore, Earl had been a Salem County resident his entire life.  Earl was a US Army veteran of WWII and worked as a lab tech at DuPont for 39 years.  Prior to DuPont, he drove a milk truck for Richman’s.  He enjoyed splitting wood, vegetable gardening, traveling, and attending air shows.

Earl is survived by his daughters, Marianne Weatherbee and Barbara J. Moore; his sons, Earl W. Moore (Ellen) and Robert W. Moore; his granddaughter, Melissa Evans (Robert); his great-grandchildren, Logan, Julie, and Alex Evans; and his sister, Charlotte Holladay.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anne (Holdcraft) Moore and his sister, Alice Tufts.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 17th in the Salem County War Veterans Cemetery, Rt. 45, Pilesgrove.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mannington Fire Company, 175 Rt. 45, Salem, NJ, 08079.
