Catherine M. Brown (DeLay) peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Merion Gardens Assisted Living.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary DeLay. Born and raised in Tamaqua, PA, she graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital with her RN degree, married Dr. Hubert V. Brown, moved to Penns Grove, NJ where she raised her family.

In addition to being a devoted mother, she served as the Salem County Visiting Nurse, was active in St. James Church and the Franciscan Society.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Hubert V. Brown, and her 4 siblings (Marie, Esther, Bernadette, and William). She is survived by her 5 children, Hugh (Dolly) Brown, Thomas (Jackie) Brown, Maryanne (Don) Mackay, Catherine (Jim) LaPalomento, Rosemary (Joe) Glutting, her 6 grandchildren, Barry Michael Brown, Mary Elizabeth Ditolvo, James LaPalomento, Kathleen Williams, Andrea Heiken, Patrick Brown, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, October 12th in the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit Church, formerly St. Joseph’s RC Church, 51 Broad St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will follow Mass in the church cemetery.
