In remembrance of James Raymond Hunt III, “JR”, it is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing, a devoted father, husband, and pillar of strength for his family and friends.
Raymond (JR), was born October 11, 1955 to James R Hunt II and Dolores S Hunt(Smick) of Quinton, NJ. Raymond graduated Woodstown High School in 1973 and went to work ever since.
Raymond was a devoted father whose unwavering dedication to his family defined his life. A passionate workaholic who worked at the refinery in Paulsboro NJ for 45 years, as well as driving for his son Brad, the Farmers Exchange and endless jobs for his farming friends. He toiled tirelessly to provide his loved ones with a life filled with love and abundance. His heart belonged to the fields where his love for farming blossomed into a source of pride for him. If he wasn’t farming his own land or milking cows, he would always be helping someone else. James leaves behind a legacy of hard work, sacrifice, and the cherished memories of a family blessed by his boundless love. May his commitment to family and the land inspire generations to come.
A true “Hunt” he loved to party and always wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. People gravitated to his generous and kind nature.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Terry L Hunt (Alderman). His mother Dolores S Hutchinson, his two sisters Karla (Parker) Hall of Sharptown and Kimberly (Paul ‘PJ’) Pankok of Quinton, NJ. His seven children James (Dianna) Raymond Hunt IV of Sorrento, FL, Walter (Christy) A Hunt of Woodstown, NJ, Megan (Jonathan) N Brunt of Columbus, NJ, Brad (Christina) A Hunt of Elmer, NJ, Jaclyn (Mauro) M Catalano of Harrisonville, NJ, Tammy (Jeremy) L Viera of Clarksburg, WV, and Jesse (Robert) R Hunt of Pedricktown, NJ. He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He also leaves behind many beloved farming friends, work friends like family, his camping friends and his Friday night Pap Luigi’s Crew.
A viewing will be held at H.T. Layton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 102 S Main St, Woodstown, NJ 08098 on Thursday December 14th from 5PM to 9PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in memory to Pedricktown Ambulance Squad at 27 Straughns Mill Road, Pedricktown, NJ, 08067 or to The American Cancer Society.
