Donald R. Haven Sr.

Donald R Haven Sr passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 19, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born on March 14, 1940, in Haddon Heights, New Jersey and was the son of Edna Agnes Haven and Henry Richard Haven Sr.

Donald married Earlen Edythe Goodley in 1966 and together they purchased their 138-acre dairy farm in Mansfield Township, Burlington County NJ. Despite his love of the dairy industry, in the mid-1970s, Donald went into Real Estate brokerage and by 1991 became owner, director, and instructor of The Real Estate School in Cherry Hill NJ. Over his 30+ year career, Donald trained tens of thousands of real estate professionals in Southern NJ. Donald was known for his dynamic and entertaining teaching style and his incredible knowledge of real estate law. He shared his knowledge freely, having edited and advised on many of the major real estate textbooks in use today.

Donald and Earlen moved to their 23-acre farm in Pilesgrove NJ in 1993 where he and his wife enjoyed riding horses, raising cows and gardening. Donald was a member of the Rotary Club in Haddon Heights, and he taught Adult Sunday School at Haddon Heights United Methodist Church and Asbury United Methodist Church in Woodstown. He enjoyed riding his horse Caesar, boating on the C&D canal, listening to his 6,000 songs on iTunes, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Henry Richard Haven Jr. He is survived by his wife Earlen Haven of Pilesgrove, NJ, his children Donald Robert Haven Jr married to Kathleen Haven of Sewell, NJ, and their daughter, Olivia Marie, and Kelby Lyn Haven-Spillane married to Robert Spillane of Pilesgrove, NJ, his sister Marianna Breyer and her husband John L Breyer of Templeton MA, his wife’s brother Harold Earle Goodley and wife Jill of Big Pine, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Donald R Haven Sr will be forever remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a leader in the real estate education community and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at 149 S Main St, Woodstown, NJ 08098 on Saturday, April 29th. Visitation begins at 10:00 am with a Memorial Service to follow at noon.
