William Sherman Moore, age 90 of Friesburg, died Friday, December 29, 2017, in Inspira Medical Center in Elmer.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late William Allen & Emma (Lang) Moore. Sherman attended Woodstown High School, and he was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He had been employed as a truck driver by Cross Transportation, and also farmed with Seabrook Farms, Ivan Garrison, and George A. Coombs & Sons Farm, and he attended Aldine United Methodist Church. After his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking at home.
Sherman is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois M. (Woolbert) Moore; his sons, Robert (& Josie) Moore of Woodstown; Gary Moore of Friesburg; his daughter, Joyce (& Dale) Wilson of Daretown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Clarence and J. Daniel Moore; and his sisters, Roberta Prince, Edna Grove, Pearl Davis, and Lois Ware.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, January 3rd in the Aldine United Methodist Cemetery, 780 Friesburg – Aldine Rd. in Aldine (Alloway Township). A viewing will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., in Woodstown. Memorial contributions in Sherman’s memory may be made to the Aldine United Methodist Church, 780 Friesburg-Aldine Rd., Elmer, NJ 08318.
