Stephen A. Hartlove

Stephen Anthony Hartlove, 27, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on September 10, 2017.

The memorial will be held on Saturday September 16th from 12-4pm followed by a service at 4:15pm. Join our family at H.T. Layton Funeral Home at 102 South Main St, Woodstown NJ 08098 to celebrate Stephen’s Life.

Stephen was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 15, 1990. He graduated from Lansdowne High School in 2008 and pursued a career as an electrician. In 2011, an opportunity presented itself for Steve to become a lineman for Atlantic City Electric. Over the course of the next 6 years Steve worked in the Glassboro, Rockville, and Bridgeton districts as a helper and a lineman apprentice.

Stephen was full of life and energy and loved making people happy. Some of his favorite things were steak, bacon, beer, his Tahoe, his motorcycle, McDonald’s, and ice cream. Stephen made it a point to make sure when he was up everyone had to be up and start their day when he was ready. He made sure that no matter what the setting, when he walked in the room he wanted you too know that he, the self-titled dongzilla, was there. Stephen was loud, abrasive, wild, fun, crazy, energetic, loving, and a pleasure to be around. The most important parts of his life were the people in it. Stephen cared for each and everyone of his family members and friends, and possessed a certain loyalty that is very rare in this world.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Denise Marie Hartlove, and his father Jerry “Mose” Hartlove. Born into a large family, Stephen is the youngest of five boys, Ted, Carlos, Phil and Matt and he is often believed to be the wildest. Not shy about his thoughts or beliefs, Steve made it known to the people close to him how much he loved them and how much he cared. No party will ever truly be the same as we lay rest to the actual “King of Clubs.”
