Margaret W. “Peg” Haines

Margaret W. “Peg” Haines, age 95 of Pilesgrove, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Friends Village with her family at her side. Peg was born on November 25, 1921 to A. LaDow Walker and Margaret Walker. She was raised in Haddonfield, NJ and graduated in 1939 from Haddonfield Memorial High School and then a private business school. She was employed by First Camden National Bank and Trust Company. In 1942, she married Neil Haines, an army officer, and traveled with him to army bases in the country for the remainder of World War II. Peg was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodstown.

Peg is survived by her daughter, Paula Dick (& Rev. John) of Middletown, OH; her sons, Jeffrey (& Pamela) of Andover and Christopher of Basking Ridge; her grandchildren, Andrew (& Lauren) and Jamie Dick, Timothy and Phillip Haines, and Julie (& Joe) Hiles; her great-granddaughters, Julia and Savannah; her sister, Marian Stephens of Wappingers Falls, NY; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Shaw. In addition to her parents, Peg was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Neil, in October of 2004; her stepmother, Edith McGill Walker; and her son, Alan, in March of 2010.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, March 16th in the First Baptist Church, 117 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 1 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be made in memory of Peg Haines to the First Baptist Church of Woodstown, 117 S. Main St., Woodstown, NJ, 08098.
