Louis D. Ware, age 85 of Daretown, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 17, 2018 with his family by his side. Born in Daretown, son of the late Natalie and H. Carroll Ware, he was a 1950 graduate of Woodstown High School.

Lou was a central office switchman with Verizon Telephone retiring after 37 years of service. He worked with his wife and daughter on the family farm and loved the outdoors. Lou served with his wife as treasurers of the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church for 28 years and also served on the Board of Trustees and the Old Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church Committee. He had also served as Chairman of the Upper Pittsgrove Township Planning Board, and was instrumental in development of the 911 numbering system for the township.

Lou is survived by his daughter, Joanne C. Ware. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Jean C. Ware and his brother, Ralph Ware.

Services will be held on Thursday March 22, 2018 at 11am at the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Road, in Daretown. Family will greet guests from 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 312 Daretown Road, Elmer, NJ 08318.
