Lester “Bucky” Strang

Born in Elmer, he was the son of the late Lester E. & Mildred (Wright)

Strang. Lester was a graduate of Bridgeton High School and Bucknell

University. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He owned and operated Strang Transportation and later worked as a real estate broker. Lester was a member of Elmer Rotary, the Elmer Hospital Board of Directors, and the Elmer School Board of Education. He had been a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Elmer where he served as trustee, choir director, and youth group leader.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Schaller; his son, Douglas (& Joan)

Strang; his daughter, Lisa (& Bob) Carll; his daughter, Sharon (& Ken)

Litwak; his grandchildren, Heather Baity, Norbert Schaller, Jr., Michael

Schaller, Maureen Prohowich, Amy Pancoast, Joel Strang, Meagan Strang, Seth Carll, Kimberly Carll, and Michelle Helms; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty (nee Thompson) in May of 2016, and his brother, Donald Strang.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 30th in the H.T.

Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 9 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Chestnut
