Kathy T. Kesler

Kathy Jean Kesler (Trevethan), 70, of Woodstown, NJ, formerly of North Plainfield, went to be with her Lord on January 21, 2018, after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Born on September 3, 1947 in North Plainfield to the late Thomas and Grace (nee Thomas) Trevethan, Kathy graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1965 and then went on to major in elementary and special education at The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, New York. Her first teaching position brought her to southern New Jersey. She spent 29 years of her teaching career at West Deptford High School where she was a dedicated special education teacher. There she met her husband, the late David Kesler. Kathy and David were both active members of Asbury United Methodist Church. Kathy was involved in different activities throughout her church including singing in the choir, participating in women’s groups, running bible school, and serving the community through Meals on Wheels. She was so very loved by those around her and her selflessness and generosity towards others was admired at all times. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Sarah Jane Kesler, her brother, Thomas Trevethan (Barbara), her nephews, Nathan (Rebecca) Trevethan and Ian Trevethan, and her dear cousin, Camie Morrison. A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 149 South Main St., Woodstown, on January 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM where family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
