Johnson Brooks Cooper

Johnson Brooks Cooper, age 95, of Upper Pittsgrove Twp., passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at home with his loving family at his side.

Born in Shirley, he was the son of the late Joseph M. & Olive (Brooks) Cooper. He was a 1939 graduate of Woodstown High School and had been a self-employed dairy and vegetable farmer for over 75 years. He was a Navy Cadet in the US Naval Service during World War II.

After serving he returned home to work on the family farm.

Johnson was an avid deer and duck hunter and spent many seasons deer hunting throughout the United States and Canada. He was a lifetime member of the Elmer Masonic Lodge, as well as Committeeman for Elmer Agway, and FHA Committee. He was also a member of Elmer Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Anne; two daughters: Linda Williams and Kimberly Kahle: step-daughters: Patricia Robinson (Clarence), Phyllis Kingsbury (Bruce), Joan English (Jim), Helen Redrow (Mark); his sister Mary Battle (Raymond); grandchildren: Lora Lowery (Jason), Jeffrey Bowser (Alice), Emma Williams, Allen Williams, Jr., Janelle Kahle, Cody Coles, Carly Coles and great-grandchildren: Justin and Collin Lowery, Alice and Joshua Bowser. He was pre-deceased by his grandson Timothy Kahle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11am in H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 South Main Street, Woodstown, NJ,

A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Woodstown High School FFA, 140 East Avenue, Woodstown, NJ.
