Joan A. Scheese, age 83 of Friesburg, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in her home with her family by her side.
Born in Trenton, daughter of the late James & Florence (Hulse) Rowe, she was a 1952 graduate of Hamilton High School and a graduate of the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in 1955. Joan, and her husband, Donald, moved to South Jersey in 1965. Together they established Tall Pines Campground and began the life endeavor of Scheese Farm. Joan was the center of her family whom she loved very much. A devoted Christian, Joan was known to many as “Nanny”! Her happiest moments in life were when she was having fun with her friends and family.
Joan is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald H. Scheese; her son, Donald J. Scheese; her daughter, Nancy Wilson (David); her grandchildren, Dave Wilson (Burgandy), Dustin Wilson (Sarah), Dalton Wilson, and Regan Wilson; her great-granddaughter, Emilia Wilson; her sister, Bette Lou Lowrey; and her sisters-in-law, Audrey and Alma Rowe. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Scheese, and her brothers, James and Joseph Rowe.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, April 11th in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 366 Cohansey – Friesburg Rd., Elmer (Alloway Township), where friends are invited to visit from 12 Noon until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church, PO Box 363, Elmer, NJ, 08318.
