Doug G. VanMeter, age 50 of Alloway, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in Norristown, PA.

Born and raised in Cohansey, he was the son of the late George & Katherine VanMeter. Doug was a 1984 graduate of Cumberland Regional High School, and he worked on the family farm for many years until recently when he worked as a mechanic for M. Davis & Sons. He was a member of the Alloway Township Veterans Association, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and throwing darts and horseshoes. Doug was a hard-working and funny guy who loved being with his family and friends.

Doug is survived by his son, Devin; his daughter, Ashley; his twin daughters, Mikele and Kelsey; his girlfriend, Betsy Burden; his brothers, Dave, Gary, and Donnie; many nieces and nephews, and his extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 15th in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of service.
